You’ve probably felt it - that gentle, almost magnetic pull toward Reiki.
Maybe you’ve had a session before and left feeling lighter, more peaceful, or deeply connected in a way you can’t quite explain. Maybe you keep hearing about Reiki from friends, or it keeps popping up online - in your feed, in conversation, in unexpected moments that make you pause and think, “Maybe I should learn more about this.”
That curiosity is often the first sign that something within you is awakening. Reiki has a way of finding us when we’re ready for it. It doesn’t shout; it whispers. It arrives through intuition - the quiet knowing that says there’s more to healing than what we can see.
Many of my students tell me they were drawn to Reiki long before they knew what it really was. They simply felt that “something” was calling them toward it. Some were looking for calm in the middle of a busy life; others wanted a deeper spiritual connection or a way to help loved ones through challenging times. Whatever the reason, they all describe the same thing - a sense of being guided toward this work at exactly the right moment.
If you’ve been feeling that same pull, wondering whether to take Reiki training for yourself, you’re not imagining it. Reiki often begins as a whisper from your own energy - an invitation to slow down, tune in, and learn how to work with the subtle healing power that’s always been within you.
But how do you know if you’re truly ready to take that next step? Whether you’re brand new to energy healing or have already experienced Reiki firsthand, there are a few clear signs that your soul - and your energy - are preparing for the journey ahead.
Here are seven signs you’re ready to begin Reiki training - and what they might mean for your growth, healing, and sense of peace.
1. You feel drawn to healing and energy work - even if you can’t explain why.
You might find yourself curious about crystals, essential oils, or energy work. You may notice you’re more sensitive to people’s moods or the atmosphere in a room. Or maybe you’ve started paying more attention to your own energy - how it rises and dips depending on who you’re around or what you’re doing.
That pull toward energy work is often your intuition speaking. Reiki is a gentle, structured way to understand that sensitivity and work with it instead of feeling drained by it. When you take Reiki training, you learn how to protect your own energy while supporting others - something that feels especially empowering if you’re an empath or a natural caretaker.
2. You’re craving calm, balance, and a sense of grounding in everyday life.
Life can feel busy, overwhelming, and full of noise. Between work, family, and everything in between, it’s easy to forget what it feels like to simply be. Reiki helps you return to that stillness.
Students often tell me that after learning Reiki, they feel more centered and grounded - even in moments that used to trigger stress or anxiety. Through daily self-Reiki, you create a few quiet minutes just for you. It becomes your anchor, your way to exhale and come home to yourself no matter what’s happening around you.
If you’ve been longing for a practice that helps you stay calm and connected, Reiki training offers just that: a lifelong tool for inner peace.
3. You want to trust your intuition more - and you’re ready to listen.
Most people drawn to Reiki are already intuitive. You might feel guided by little nudges or flashes of knowing, but perhaps you sometimes second-guess them. Reiki helps you deepen that trust.
As you begin to learn Reiki, you’ll notice your awareness expanding. You start tuning in more clearly - to your body, your emotions, and the subtle energy within and around you. Over time, you begin to trust those intuitive messages instead of brushing them aside.
Reiki training doesn’t just teach you to channel healing energy; it teaches you to listen - to yourself, to your clients or loved ones, and to the quiet wisdom that’s always been there.
4. You’re the one who holds space for others - and you’re ready to refill your own cup.
If you’re the friend everyone goes to for advice or comfort, you probably know what it’s like to give a lot of energy away. Reiki helps you refill.
Before we ever share Reiki with others, we begin by working with our own energy - releasing, balancing, and restoring from the inside out. Learning Reiki gives you a way to support yourself energetically, so you can keep showing up for others from a place of fullness instead of fatigue.
It’s self-care on a soul level - not just something you do occasionally, but a daily practice that helps you feel grounded, peaceful, and more in tune with yourself.
5. You’ve experienced Reiki and want to understand it more deeply.
Many people who decide to learn Reiki have already experienced its effects firsthand. Maybe you felt warmth, tingling, or a deep calm during a session and thought, What just happened?
Learning Reiki allows you to peek behind the curtain. You’ll discover how energy flows through the body, how chakras influence your well-being, and how Reiki helps restore harmony in ways that modern science is only beginning to understand.
When you go through Reiki Level 1 training, you learn to give Reiki to yourself and begin to see how powerful consistent self-healing can be. In Level 2, you learn to send Reiki across distance and time. And when you feel called, Reiki Master training opens you to teach and attune others - sharing this beautiful practice far and wide.
Understanding Reiki on this deeper level often changes the way you see life itself. It helps you realize that everything - thoughts, emotions, nature, people - is energy, and that healing begins when we bring that energy into balance.
6. You’re seeking spiritual connection - without dogma or pressure.
Reiki isn’t tied to any religion or belief system. It’s a spiritual practice that honors your own connection to something greater - whatever that means to you.
Many people begin Reiki training during times of transition: after loss, during healing, or when they’re ready to reconnect with meaning and purpose. Reiki becomes a quiet reminder that you are supported and that peace is always available within you.
If you’ve been craving a sense of connection, but not sure where to start, Reiki can be that bridge - gentle, grounding, and deeply personal.
7. You’re ready to invest in your growth, healing, and peace.
You don’t need to have it all figured out to begin Reiki training. You just need an open heart and a willingness to learn.
If something inside you keeps saying “yes,” even softly, trust that. That’s often how energy calls us - quietly but persistently. Whether you want to learn Reiki for self-healing or eventually share it with others, the moment you say yes to that calling, your journey begins.

Reiki Training FAQs
How long does Reiki training take?
Each level of Reiki can be completed in a single day of training - but the real magic unfolds over time as you practice. After your attunement, I encourage students to spend at least 21 days doing self-Reiki to integrate the energy before taking the next level, but ultimately it’s up to them.
For online students, my self-paced Reiki courses let you move through the material in your own time, with personal support and check-ins to keep you on track.
Do I need any experience to learn Reiki?
Not at all. Reiki is for everyone. You don’t need to be “spiritual” or have prior energy-healing experience. Many of my students are simply looking for a way to feel calmer, more grounded, and connected to themselves. Reiki meets you exactly where you are.
What’s included in Reiki training?
Every student receives:
A detailed Reiki manual
A Reiki attunement
Hands-on instruction and personal practice
Time for reflection and integration
Ongoing support and community after your training
Can I learn Reiki online and still get certified?
Yes! My online Reiki training is fully certified and includes your attunement, which I offer remotely. Distance Reiki is just as powerful as in-person energy work - and online training allows you to learn at your own pace, from anywhere in the world.
What happens after Reiki Level 1?
After Level 1, you’ll spend time practicing self-Reiki and sharing with loved ones. When you feel ready, Reiki Level 2 introduces the Reiki symbols and the ability to send Reiki across distance and time. Later, some students choose to continue to Reiki Master training, which allows them to teach and attune others.
There’s no rush - your Reiki journey unfolds in perfect timing.
Where do you offer Reiki training?
I teach in-person Reiki classes at The Space at Blackbush in Grand Tracadie, PEI, and also offer self-paced online Reiki certification for students everywhere.
Both options include personalized guidance, grounded instruction, and ongoing support so you feel confident and connected throughout your journey.
Is Reiki training right for me?
If you’re drawn to energy work, craving calm, or simply feeling curious - yes! Reiki has a way of finding us when we’re ready. You don’t have to know why you’re called to it; you just have to be willing to say yes.
